The Orion Nebula (Starless)

Description
This image is an original astrophotography piece done by Kolby Van Camp over a collection of different nights under Kansas skies. The image shows a detailed view of the deep sky object, Messier 42, otherwise known as the Orion Nebula. M42 is approximately 1,350 light years away and is the closest star-birthing region of our galaxy to earth. With a total integration time of six hours and eight minutes, this high resolution image is perfect for the wall of original art collectors and astronomy enthusiasts alike. This image is the starless version, revealing the breathtaking complexity of the nebulosity. This image was taken by a ZWO 533MC Pro cooled astro-camera attached to a William Optics Zenithstar 73 apochromatic doublet refractor under Bortle 3 and Bortle 6 skies in northeast Kansas. Kolby Van Camp is an amateur astrophotographer who is developing a side business of making and selling prints of his work. Kolby actively takes astro-commissions and can be reached at his website.
